The big day has finally arrived: Windows 11 is generally available, which means interested parties can go online and download Microsoft’s latest operating system as long as their system meets all operating system requirements.
However, let’s say you don’t fall for the above camp and need another way to get Windows 11. Microsoft has prepared options for your situation. Here are the three ways the company has provided for creating and installing Windows 11 media. See Microsoft’s page on installing and creating media for download links to everything referenced in this article. .
1. Windows 11 installation wizard
The Setup Assistant is a simple fix, because – as the name suggests – it does all of the heavy lifting for you. However, you will need to meet the Windows 11 system requirements for this option to be viable. There are also other situations where the wizard will not be useful. “If you need installation media to install Windows 11 on another PC or ARM64 device, see Create Windows 11 installation media,” Microsoft says.
2. Media creation tool
Here is where you can get things started for Windows 11. Download the Media Creation Tool and you can put the operating system on a USB stick, external drive, or DVD with at least 8 GB of space to go. everywhere with you. The only major requirement is that the PC you are installing the media on has a 64-bit processor. As long as it’s good, you’re good to go.
3. Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)
“This option is for users who want to create bootable installation media (USB key, DVD) or create a virtual machine (.ISO file) to install Windows 11,” Microsoft explains. “This download is a multi-edition ISO that uses your product key to unlock the correct edition.” The ISO route is the same as the Media Creation Tool method above in terms of system requirements; if your PC has a 64-bit processor, you can continue.
