It’s the week between Christmas and New Years, and the Wall Street corporate calendar is virtually empty. There are no large companies reporting profits or speaking with investors. The fourth quarter earnings season kicks off with results for several major banks on January 14.

There are some highlights on the economic data calendar, especially for those watching the US real estate market. S&P CoreLogic releases its National Case-Shiller House Price Index for October and the Federal Housing Finance Agency releases its October House Price Index, both on Tuesday. Next, the National Association of Realtors released its Pending Home Sales Index for November on Wednesday.

Other data released this week included the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey for December Monday, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond’s Fifth District Manufacturing Activity Survey for December Tuesday and the Institute for Supply Management’s Chicago Purchasing Managers Index for December on Thursday.

US stock markets will be open during regular trading hours on Friday. Fixed income markets will close early for New Year’s Eve.
