SDA chief Bakir Izetbegovic told Banja Luka on Friday that he would not qualify the Republika Srpska (RS) as a “genocidal creation”.
“I will not say such words, I will not call RS a genocidal creation, and I will not question it. It is determined by the Dayton Accord, it exists for me as part of Bosnia -Herzegovina (BiH), ”said Izetbegovic, responding to a journalist’s question after the SDA presidency session.
However, he added that there are historical facts about what happened, and it is war crimes, ethnic cleansing, the 1995 genocide …
“You can’t stop people from talking about these things. At the same time, of course, we cannot blame the whole Serbian people for such things, the whole RS army, only those who really did it, who were convicted. What the courts have decided is up to me, ”said the SDA president.
Izetbegovic said that we should not insult or provoke each other, but that we should respect and help each other.
He added that the law recently passed by the RS National Assembly (NARS) is controversial as it overturned the decision of the Office of the High Representative (OHR). He recalled that the SNRA is not competent to do so.
“No one can revoke the decision of the OHR, unless it is adopted by the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina and then modified by amendments,” Izetbegovic recalled.
