The Indianola School Board approved the bid for the district’s Auxiliary Services Building for just under $6.6 million at their meeting on Tuesday. Superintendent Art Sathoff told KNIA News the board tabled the article at its last meeting after the lowest bid exceeded the estimate by about $600,000 to get more information. . Sathoff said that after speaking to the architects, the council felt their questions were answered.
“After it was filed last time, the lowest bidder proactively contacted our architect and provided extensive information that filled in the blanks for the board. Really, the whole issue is our Warren County floor , we have expansive clays and you never know what you might encounter, so for any project you need to plan for things that might become necessary.
