Hubig’s Pies owner Andrew Ramsey has announced the pies are back on the market after production ceased 10 years ago. The pies will be sold in local stores starting Monday and are on sale Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or while supplies last at the Hancock Whitney branch on S. Carrollton Avenue. “We use the same recipes and formulas. Some salvaged and refurbished machines. Some machines have been custom made to replicate what has been lost. The pies will be identical in every way,” Ramsey said in a statement. Hubig’s Pies stopped production in July 2012 after a five-alarm fire destroyed the bakery. Officials say the fire started around 4 a.m. and took hours to get under control. This building has been a must in the Marigny district since 1922.
