Hotpack unveils its largest manufacturing facility in National Industries Park



Dubai: Hotpack Global, the world leader in food packaging products based in the United Arab Emirates, has inaugurated its largest manufacturing plant in the National Park of Industries (NIP), Dubai. The company announced that it has invested around AED 250 million in the facility. The new plant marks an important milestone in Hotpack’s vision to emerge as the world’s leading manufacturer of food packaging by 2030.

The purpose-built manufacturing plant will produce Hotpack’s high performance and durable PET (polyethylene terephthalate) packaging products. The facility will also function as a center for various Hotpack arms, with manufacturing, e-commerce, logistics and marketing being located in one building.

Commenting on the company’s latest manufacturing facility, Mr. Abdul Jebbar PB, Group Managing Director, Hotpack Global, said, “We are delighted to unveil the largest and most technologically advanced facility to date. In line with our commitment to spearhead eco-friendly food packaging product initiatives to reduce pollution, the factory generates zero percent waste and is environmentally responsible. The NIP plant is equipped to consume 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) PET in the extrusion process, ensuring a circular supply chain.

“We are also integrating various Hotpack divisions under one roof and localizing our operations to increase efficiency. The 500,000 square foot facility will serve as a one-stop-shop for high performance and sustainable PET packaging. Along with our large warehouse with a capacity of 35,000 pallet storage spaces, this facility will also function as our export hub,” he added.

Mr. Abdulla Al Jasmi, Manager of the National Industries Park, said: At NIP, we always align our work with the development goals of the wise leadership of the UAE. Adding manufacturers like Hotpack will significantly contribute to our leading position in the UAE industrial sector. The government aims to increase the manufacturing sector’s contribution to the economy in the coming years by creating an industrial identity to support domestic products and promote the sector globally. NIP will work with manufacturers like Hotpack to support this goal.

Elaborating on the technological advancements that govern the operations of the Hotpack factory, Mr. Zainudeen PB, Executive Director of Hotpack Global Group, said, “The Hotpack NIP factory is a technological marvel, equipped with machinery for extrusion, thermoforming and advanced printing from the world’s leading equipment suppliers.

“The facility successfully achieves full process automation by incorporating robotic packaging systems, automatic roll handling systems and vendor-neutral archives for warehouse material handling. This way we can reduce human intervention and provide one of the most hygienic and efficient food packaging solutions in the world,” he added.

Mr. Anwar PB, Group Technical Director at Hotpack Global, said, “The new NIP plant will enable us to bring sustainable packaging solutions to our global customers compared to traditional food packaging formulas available in the market. We are ready to launch heat-resistant PET cups – Compressed PET lite – which can withstand temperatures of 100 degrees. Hotpack’s research and development (R&D) team is constantly looking towards new projects, working closely with stakeholders to incorporate the latest technologies and developments evolving globally.

Hotpack Global was recently certified as a ‘Verified Exporter’ by Dubai Industries and Exports, the trade promotion arm of the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). The NIP facility will further increase Hotpack’s logistics capabilities and provide a major boost to its export growth strategy.

In line with its global vision, Hotpack has pursued an aggressive expansion strategy in the Middle East. More recently, the company opened its first manufacturing facility in Doha, Qatar to produce Hotpack paper products.
