Historic gift gives green light to new Kent State University building

KENT, Ohio (WKBN) – A fundraising campaign to raise funds for the construction of a new College of Business Administration building has now ended after a large donation from Edward F. Crawford.

Kent State’s board of trustees approved construction of a new, state-of-the-art building on behalf of the college at a special meeting on Friday.

The new building will be called Crawford Hall and the college will be called the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship.

The Crawford Hall construction project is part of the university’s recently announced $ 350 million global campaign, “Forever Brighter.” The campaign is the largest in Kent State history.

Other planned improvements include the creation of a new access entrance to the Kent campus that will house Crawford Hall and the new business administration building.

Edward Crawford is CEO of The Crawford Group and Director of Park-Ohio. Park-Ohio is a $ 1.6 billion publicly traded, diversified industrial supply chain and manufacturing logistics company, employing more than 7,000 people at 125 locations around the world.

Kent State officials did not disclose the amount of Crawford’s gift.
