HBO series stops production due to Covid-19 – Deadline

Production on HBO’s next limited series We own this townwas temporarily suspended there after the start of a “Covid event”, details are not known. Filming is underway in Baltimore, Maryland.

“Production will be interrupted on We own this town this week due to a COVID event and is expected to resume at the usual rate of fire next week, ”according to a statement provided to Deadline.

The six-hour limited series of Thread executive producers David Simon and George Pelecanos, is based on the book by Baltimore reporter Sun Justin Fenton We Own This Town: A True Story of Crime, Cops and Corruption. The series will chronicle the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force and the corruption and moral collapse that plagued an American city in which drug-ban policies and mass arrests have been defended at the expense of actual police work.

Jon Bernthal, Josh Charles and Jamie Hector star alongside Thaddeus Street, Tray Chaney, Jermaine Crawford, Nathan E. Corbett and Chris Clanton.

Simon and Pelecanos write the series with Thread scribes Ed Burns and Bill Zorzi. Simon, Pelecanos and Burns also produce with Kary Antholis, Nina K. Noble and Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also directs. Zorzi is a writer and co-executive producer. Dwight Watkins is also a writer.

is the latest TV show to temporarily suspend filming after members of the production test positive for Covid-19. They include Netflix Bridgerton, HBO Westworld and comedy Hulu I woke up among others.
