And arguably the most exciting new iPhone feature, the multitasking notification center known as Dynamic Island, is also only available on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The two cheaper models still sport the same old notch. We should also point out that while both the Pro and non-Pro variants of the iPhone 14 come with 6GB of RAM (Random Access Memory), the more expensive Pro devices use the faster LPDDR5 version compared to the LPDDR4X variant of RAM used on non-Pro handsets.
While year-over-year sales of base iPhone 14 models saw a huge decline on a year-over-year basis, sales of iPhone 14 Pro models versus iPhone 13 Pro models increased up 38% year-over-year in the same 11 days after the unveiling of the new phones. Kuo sees iPhone 14 Pro Max grabbing 30%-35% of iPhone 14 sales
Kuo said in early September that he expected to see Apple cut production of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, even though the latter will have the best battery life of any iPhone. Kuo, who is so prescient about Apple that he knows what suit CEO Tim Cook will wear on the third Thursday in December, said sales of the most expensive 2022 iPhone, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, will represent 30%-35% of iPhone 14 series sales.
In the United States, during the pre-order period, the delivery time for the iPhone 14 Pro Max was 36.5 days, the longest of any Apple product in six years. Delivery time measures the number of days it takes from ordering a device to when the product is in your hands. This is indicative of a very strong demand for the phone.
