For the message of the cross is folly for those who perish, but for us who are saved, it is the power of God, salvation. To activate the power of God, it takes faith and obedience to Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. This requires submission, for he is the author of eternal salvation, to all who obey him called by God as High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 5: 8-10)
The question; why is the message of the cross a message of madness? In other words, it makes no sense to those who are lost. In the message of the cross, Christ became a sin that knew no sin, for us, so that we could become the righteousness of God in Him. (1 Corinthians 5:21)
He became like the brass serpent in the days of Moses, when Moses lifted him up in the wilderness that whoever would be bitten by the fiery serpent and looked up to the brass serpent would live. John 3:14; Numbers 21: 9
This is what we have to do as a nation, look to the cross of Jesus Christ that we will live. Jesus said that whoever believes in him will not perish but will have eternal life. At Calvary, Jesus Christ erased the handwritten demands that were against us and were against us; all the curses of the law. It has become a curse for us because it is written cursed is anyone who is hanged on a tree; Galatians 3:13. Jesus removed the curse and nailed it to the cross, having disarmed principalities and powers. He made a public spectacle of them triumphing over them. There he destroyed the power of the enemy by dying and by his death he destroyed the power of death, and not only that, but he freed all those who, all their lives, were held in bondage by the fear of death. . Hebrews 2: 14-15
Jesus Christ descended into the lower earthly regions, He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe. Ephesians 4: 8-9 He ascended on high, took many captives and made offerings to his people. God was in Christ bringing together all things in heaven and earth, Ephesians 1:10, to be put into action when the times come to an end. This means that everything under the sun has its time, including the devil; he knows his time is running out. Revelation 12:12.
Christ on the cross was reconciled with himself to all things on earth or in heaven by making peace through his blood on the cross. Why? For a new humanity that he was creating in himself. Ephesians 2:15 A new creation in Jesus Christ. God was in Christ reconciling the world with Himself in Christ, not counting the sins of the people against them and entrusted to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for God as if God is calling for us. 2 Corinthians 5:20
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. And what is the new creation? It is Christ in you, the new me, created in God in true righteousness and holiness by the Holy Spirit living in you. Ephesians 4:23 and Colossians 1:23 His will will be done on earth as it is in heaven. His kingdom with you and me as kings and priests to reign in Him.
