SANFORD – Are you looking for a great job in your community? Launch your career! You can start great jobs in manufacturing with starting salaries starting at $ 14 an hour and opportunities to grow into well-paid, highly skilled careers.

The Central Carolina Manufacturing Institute is hosting two information sessions for those interested in learning more about these opportunities.

Regional manufacturers will provide insight into the many types of jobs available, how to get those jobs, and how companies support their team members in building their careers.

An in-person briefing is scheduled for January 20 at 9 a.m. at the Center for Workforce Innovation, 5910 Enterprise Park Drive, Sanford.

These sessions are supported by Central Carolina Community College, in partnership with AD Tubi USA, Bharat Forge / Kalyani, Boon Edam, Caterpillar, Coty, Edelbrock Group, Johnson Controls, Mertek Solutions and Pentair.

For those interested in manufacturing but need to develop their basic skills, Central Carolina is offering a Manufacturing Technician Course which will begin February 21; the college has scholarship funds to pay for registration and course material.

“The Central Carolina Manufacturing Institute is an initiative designed to help local employers develop their talent pool,” said Felicia R. Crittenden, dean of continuing education operations for Central Carolina. “One of the goals of the institute is to train and / or develop employees interested in becoming manufacturing technicians working in high demand manufacturing environments. “
