Apogee and Tech7 announce the creation of a new joint venture


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado., August 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Apogee and Tech7 today announced the establishment of a mentor-protege (MPA) agreement through the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) mentor-protege program (MPP). Under the agreement, Apogee will act as a mentor providing Tech7 with strategic advice on business management systems, accounting, marketing and strategic planning. Through this partnership, Tech7, an SBA Certified 8(a) Program Participant and Disadvantaged Small Business (SDB) will be the protege and receive valuable business development assistance.

The agreement between Apogee and Tech7 will also create a new joint venture (JV), Tech7-Apogee Solutions Joint Venture, LLC (TAS-JV) combining the capabilities of both companies to provide a range of solutions including space, engineering, science, information technology, mission support, management services, software solutions, cybersecurity and intelligence to defense and civilian agencies.

The SBA MPP enables eligible small businesses (protected) to receive valuable business development assistance to win federal contracts through relationships with more mature businesses (mentors). Proteges can employ the necessary resources and experience of the larger, more established business, which in turn can pursue any reserved contract for which the protege qualifies, such as 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business.
