A new office building is on the way in Frisco.
The 7-story office building would be part of a planned $850 million mixed-use development on the northeast corner of Spring Creek Parkway and State Highway 121.
The planned $50 million office development called SouthStone Yards would begin construction this summer, according to planning documents filed with the state.
Dallas’ Crow Holdings would own the proposed building, according to state filings.
The office tower is to be located within a 60 acre development on the north side of SH 121.
In 2018, Frisco zoned the property on its southern border. One of the last major development sites on this stretch of the highway, the zoning allows for the construction of office towers, a hotel, retail space, and apartments and townhouses.
The yard is just north of Toyota’s new North American headquarters and the $3 billion Legacy West development in Plano.
The Frisco project was originally planned for four office towers with up to 1.4 million square feet of space, a full-service hotel, 80,000 square feet of retail and more than 1,000 apartments and townhouses .
The buildings would be built around a series of parks and open spaces.
Architect Gensler designs the office building that Crow Holdings would own, which is expected to open in late 2023.
The Frisco Building is one of many new office projects underway in Frisco.
Dallas Cowboy Owner Jerry Jones built an 11-story office tower for its Star at Frisco project. The 314,000 square foot office tower sits on the west side of the turnpike near Warren Parkway.
Developer Hall Group is constructing a 16-story, 410,000 square foot office tower as part of the expansion of its Hall Park mixed-use development to the Tollway and Gaylord Parkway.
And just south of Frisco in West Plano, developer Granite Properties is building a 420,000 square foot office tower in its Granite Park project at the southeast corner of the Turnpike and SH 121.
